We usually use a Butchers Block/Mineral Oil or a food grade Salad bowl finish wax to protect our boards.

We have recently started making our own wax for our boards from coconut oil and beeswax.  This is available to buy from us.

The easiest way to look after your board is to follow these steps.

1. Never soak your board in water.

2. When your board is showing signs of being dried out, take a lint free cloth and some oil/wax and rub into the board.  Any residual oil/wax left on the board, should be wiped off and then using the cloth, buff up.

3.  If the wood is scratched, use a fine grade sandpaper and rub down the area that is scratched and then re-oil/wax

4.  Usually we use wax on the lighter coloured woods as butchers block oil changes the colour of the wood very slightly.
